Wave FM is an official media partner of Rewind Scotland, and we can’t wait for this nostalgic music extravaganza!
There’s nothing we love more than singing along to some classic tunes and artists. That’s why we’re delighted to be working with Rewind Scotland to celebrate the music icons of the 80s and beyond. This year, Foreigner and Bryan Ferry will be headlining the weekend, playing the festival for first time.
Foreigner is one of the most popular rock acts in the world. With over 80 million records sold, the band’s string of hits include: I Want To Know What Love Is, Cold As Ice, and Hot Blooded. Joining Foreigner is Bryan Ferry, fresh from being inducted into the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. One of Britain’s most influential figures in rock, Bryan has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. With three #1 albums (Avalon, Flesh and Blood, and Stranded) and a string of Top 10 singles.
But it doesn’t end there!
Also joining Foreigner is Scotland’s own music legend Lulu, who has enjoyed a glittering career since the 60s with her signature hits Shout and To Sir With Love.
Blue-eyed soul icon Paul Young will also be taking the main stage. In the 80s, Paul made his mark on the industry with his chart-topping debut album No Parlez. He would go on to achieve a string of hit albums and pick up two BRIT Awards. Finally, rounding out the stellar line-up on Saturday are Eddi Reader, Joyce Sims, Black Box, The Dire Straits Experience, The Undertones, The Primitives and Hipsway.
On top of that, you can expect some superb comedians like Phil Jupitus, Jimeoin, Emmanuel Sonubi, Christopher Macarthur Boyd and Fred MacAuley. And if you fancy winding down, you can pop in to the Retro Cinema, playing some of the best films ever made – as voted for by the Rewind audience!
And of course, Rewind is famed for its fun family atmosphere. This year, the festival will be rolling out its most comprehensive entertainment line up yet. There’s something for all ages. In the kid’s area, Ziggy’s will be hosting circus skills workshops, family sports days and giant bubble parties. Not forgetting festival-wide scavenger hunts, the Youngertones Disco, costume making, arts and crafts and giant games.
Wave FM is delighted to be a media partner for Rewind Scotland, and rest assured we’ll be at the front of the stage clapping along. Don’t miss out on what promises to be a superb weekend of family-friendly entertainment! Book your tickets here!
