Dundee distiller switches from making gin to hand sanitiser

Verdant Spirits, based in the west end of Dundee, hopes to produce 400 litres of the gel, starting this week.

The distillery is planning to send the product out to care homes and medical facilities in five litre drums, as it has been unable to source pump dispensers for individual use.

Care workers are planning to refill their own dispensers from the bigger batches.

The distillery has asked people not to get in contact as a high call volume is hampering production.
