Coronavirus: Dundee sports and leisure facilities, libraries and cultural landmarks close from Tuesday evening

The bulk of Dundee’s leisure facilities and cultural landmarks will close from Tuesday evening.

Swimming pools, gyms, libraries and other facilities run by Leisure and Culture Dundee will temporarily shut to the public in a matter of hours due to concerns around the outbreak of covid-19.

Leisure and Culture Dundee – an arm’s-length body which operates most of the city’s sports facilities, as well as its libraries and cultural attractions – says the decision was made in the interests of health and safety.

Among the popular sites shutting are the McManus, Olympia Swimming Pool, Mills Observatory, Camperdown Wildlife Park, Dundee Ice Arena and the Ancrum Outdoor Centre.
